Our TREATMENTS

Indirect &
SL Braces

At Ogden Orthodontics we believe your smile deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach. That is why we offer advanced indirect and self ligating bracket systems that deliver precise, customized treatment for each individual patient. By combining modern treatment planning with proven bracket technologies, we create efficient treatment pathways that lead to outstanding results and more comfortable experiences for our patients.

The advantages of indirect and self ligating brackets begin with accuracy and comfort. Using indirect bonding techniques allows us to place your brackets with exceptional precision, which can improve overall efficiency and reduce treatment time when compared with traditional bracket placement methods. Self ligating brackets use a built-in clip instead of elastic ties to hold the archwire in place, which reduces friction and can make adjustments easier, meaning appointments can be quicker and treatment progress can be smoother.

Traditional
Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel or a more aesthetic clear ceramic option, they have been the workhorse of orthodontics for many years.  Traditional braces straighten your teeth using metal or clear brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.

Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.

Invisalign &
Aligners

Experience the clear, comfortable, and convenient way to align your teeth with Invisalign. At Ogden Orthodontics, we create customized treatment plans using advanced clear aligner technology so you can achieve a beautiful smile—without metal brackets or wires. Eat your favorite foods, brush with ease, and enjoy a discreet orthodontic experience from start to finish.

Retainers

You’ve worked hard for your beautiful smile; keep it that way!  Finally, your braces have been removed and your smile is beautiful, straight, and best of all, metal-free! However, your orthodontic journey isn’t quite completed. To keep your smile looking its best, you’ll have to wear a retainer to preserve and stabilize your results. Retainers are needed to control or limit potential changes in tooth position. They are used after braces treatment to hold teeth in their correct alignment while the surrounding gums, bone, and muscle adjust to the new positioning of your teeth.

Phase I
Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children see an orthodontist as early as age seven. While treatment is not normally needed, our orthodontist will evaluate whether your child will need orthodontic treatment.  Early treatment (also known as Phase One) typically begins around age eight or nine (Phase Two will begin around age 11 or older). The goal of early treatment is to correct the growth of the jaw and certain bite problems, such as underbite. Early treatment also helps to make room for permanent teeth to come in properly, lessening the chance of extractions in the future.

Orthodontic problems such as crowding of the teeth, too much space between the teeth, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, and bad bites can be inherited or caused by injury to the mouth, early or late loss of baby teeth, or thumb-sucking habits. Receiving early orthodontic treatment as a child can help prevent the need for more complex orthodontic treatment as an adult.

The Leaf Spring Activated Expander from Leone is an evolution in design from the spring-loaded expander, designed with the technical and scientific collaboration of Dr. Claudio Lanteri and Mr. Filippo Francolini. Its small size body and two Nickel Titanium Memoria® leaf springs allow the release of calibrated and continuous forces to promote the dental expansion of the maxillary arch. The metal framework is 3D printed for the most predictable and accurate fit.

The simple two appointment process starts with a scan at the first appointment and then delivery on the following date. No need for separators!
