Traditional
Braces
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel or a more aesthetic clear ceramic option, they have been the workhorse of orthodontics for many years. Traditional braces straighten your teeth using metal or clear brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.

A fixed retainer is a thin, custom-fitted wire bonded to the back of your teeth, working quietly behind the scenes to keep your smile exactly where it should be after treatment. Unlike removable retainers, it stays in place around the clock, so there's nothing to take out, store, or remember to wear at night. This makes it an excellent choice for patients who want lasting results without the daily upkeep, particularly for the lower front teeth, which are especially prone to shifting over time. Because the wire is hidden behind your teeth, it stays completely invisible when you smile, talk, or laugh. With proper care, including gentle brushing and flossing around the wire, a fixed retainer can protect your investment in a straight, healthy smile for years to come. Our team will check your retainer at routine visits to make sure it stays secure and continues doing its job.
