Braces in Windermere, FL

If you are looking at braces in Windermere, you probably want two things before you book anything. A real number, and some confidence that the orthodontist who starts the case is the one who finishes it.

Braces at the Windermere office

$4,550 metal or clear ceramic

About $177 a month over 24 months with $300 down, at 0% interest.

Free exam and digital scan. You leave with your price in writing, whether or not you decide to start.

Dr. Robert Ogden has seen patients at the Windermere office on Maguire Road since 1995. He is an orthodontist, a dental specialist who spent three additional years training in how to move teeth and correct bites, and he is the only orthodontist across all three Ogden Orthodontics offices.

If you have already sat through a consultation or two, you may have left with a price and no real explanation of it, or a long explanation and no price. That is the tiring part, and it is the part this office tries to get out of the way in the first half hour.

What is different about getting braces here

  • You get the price in writing before you decide. The consultation, the exam and the digital scan are free, and you are not asked to pay for records first.
  • Braces at this office are $4,550, metal or clear ceramic. Invisalign is $2,495 or $4,895, so you can see both options priced side by side.
  • In-house financing is 0% interest, with a down payment starting at $300.
  • Dr. Ogden plans your case and follows it to the end. There is no rotating roster of doctors.
  • If your case does not need treating yet, he will say so. He would rather tell you to wait than start something that can wait.
  • Three offices, one orthodontist. You can move between Windermere, Clermont and Mount Dora without changing doctors.

What braces cost in Windermere

You should be able to find out what treatment costs before you have to decide anything. Here is what braces run at this office.

TreatmentCost at our Windermere officeUsually the right fit for
Metal braces$4,550Most cases, including complex bite correction and younger patients
Clear ceramic braces$4,550Adults and older teens who want the brackets less visible
Invisalign Touch-Up$2,495Minor movement, usually finished in under six months
Invisalign Comprehensive$4,895Full treatment, three refinements included

Clear ceramic brackets cost the same as metal here. Published price ranges usually put ceramic several hundred dollars higher, so choosing the less visible option does not cost you anything at this office.

Braces also come in under Invisalign Comprehensive at $4,895. Which one is right still depends on your bite rather than the price.

Dr. Ogden sets your fee after the exam, and you leave the first visit with it in writing. If braces and aligners would both correct your bite, he will price both and tell you which one finishes the case better.

What your fee includes

The number you are quoted covers the whole course of treatment, not just the brackets.

  • The exam, the digital scan, and the diagnostic records
  • Every scheduled adjustment visit for the length of treatment
  • Repairs for a broken bracket or a poking wire
  • One set of retainers when the braces come off

What is not included

Two things sit outside the treatment fee, and it is better to know now than at the end.

  • Replacement retainers if one is lost or broken after treatment, starting at $225
  • Any dental work that has to happen before braces go on, such as extractions or fillings, which is billed by whoever does it

What insurance covers

Many dental plans include an orthodontic benefit, often written as a lifetime maximum somewhere between $1,000 and $3,000 per patient. Adult coverage is often different from coverage for children on the same plan.

We verify your benefit before treatment starts and file the claim for you, so you can see your estimated benefit and what you would pay out of pocket before anything begins.

Plans we work with regularly include Delta Dental, DeltaCare USA, Cigna, MetLife, United Healthcare, Ameritas, and The Standard. Coverage varies by employer even within the same insurer, so bring your card and we will check the specifics.

Orthodontic treatment is generally an eligible HSA and FSA expense, which lets many families pay part of the fee with pre-tax dollars. Check your plan documents for the specifics.

Get your written price

Will I get a price at the first visit?

Yes. You get the fee in writing at the consultation, and the consultation is free.

You are not asked to pay for X-rays or records before anyone will quote you. The exam and the digital scan are part of the free visit, and the price comes out of what Dr. Ogden sees in them.

You can take the written plan home and think about it for as long as you need.

What braces can correct

Braces move individual teeth and change how the upper and lower teeth meet, which is why they handle more than crooked front teeth.

At this office Dr. Ogden uses them for crowding, gaps and spacing, rotated teeth, teeth that protrude, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites.

Some of those also respond to Invisalign, and the difference is not just how visible the treatment is. At the consultation Dr. Ogden looks at the movement your case actually needs and tells you whether braces, aligners, or either one can get there predictably.

Braces options at the Windermere office

Metal and clear ceramic are the same price here, so the choice comes down to your case and how visible you want treatment to be.

$4,550

Metal brackets

The most versatile option, and noticeably smaller than the ones most parents remember wearing. Because they stay on the teeth, treatment does not depend on anyone remembering to put something back in.

$4,550

Clear ceramic brackets

These blend into the natural color of the tooth. They are the common request from adults and older teens who want the control of braces without the hardware being the first thing people notice. They run slightly larger and ask for more careful brushing.

Case by case

Self-ligating brackets

These hold the wire with a built-in clip instead of an elastic tie. Dr. Ogden will tell you at the consultation whether they suit your case.

Every bracket goes on with indirect bonding

Positions are planned digitally on a model of your teeth first and transferred in a single pass, rather than being placed one tooth at a time during the bonding appointment.

Braces or Invisalign for your case?

Three questions, then a starting point you can bring to your consultation. Dr. Ogden makes the actual call after he looks at your bite.

Who is treatment for?

What bothers you most about the teeth right now?

How much does it matter that treatment is hard to notice?

Answer the three questions above

You will get a starting point and a rough price for the option that usually fits, along with what to ask about at the consultation.

Braces for kids and teens

Most parents land here somewhere between a dentist's offhand suggestion and a school photo they did not love.

If you have already collected two or three different opinions about your child, that is common, and it is not a sign you have missed something. Dr. Ogden will tell you what he sees, what he would do, and what he would leave alone.

The American Association of Orthodontists puts the first orthodontic visit at about age seven. That is early enough to catch a problem while the jaw is still growing.

A check at seven does not mean braces at seven. Most children Dr. Ogden sees at that age are simply watched until the timing is right.

Full braces usually come later, once enough permanent teeth have come in. Exactly when depends on how your child is developing rather than on a birthday.

Does my child need early treatment?

Most children do not. Early treatment, sometimes called phase one, is usually reserved for problems that benefit from being addressed while a child is still growing, such as certain crossbites, underbites, eruption problems, or front teeth that protrude far enough to be injured easily.

If your child is not in one of those situations, Dr. Ogden will tell you to wait and check back. Those monitoring visits are free.

Early treatment does not always remove the need for braces later. When Dr. Ogden recommends it, he will explain what it is meant to accomplish now and what may still be needed once the permanent teeth are in. Ask him to price both stages at the first visit so you can see the whole cost before agreeing to the first part of it.

Adult braces in Windermere

Adults are a bigger share of this practice than most people expect, and the reasons repeat. Teeth that drifted after a retainer got abandoned years ago. A bite that has started to wear unevenly. Crowding nobody treated the first time around.

Mechanically adult treatment works the same way. Healthy teeth can be moved at almost any age. Cases sometimes run a little longer, and clear brackets are the more common request. They cost the same $4,550 as metal here.

Is it too late to get braces?

No. Dr. Ogden treats adults of every age at this office, and age on its own does not rule out treatment.

The thing people tend to regret is not the treatment. It is the years spent deciding whether to ask.

What matters is the health of the gums and the bone holding the teeth, not the year on your license. Dr. Ogden checks that at the consultation and will tell you plainly if something needs treating first.

If keeping treatment out of sight matters more to you than anything else, aligners are worth pricing alongside braces. Invisalign in Windermere covers that option in full.

How long braces take

Most of it comes down to how far the teeth have to move, so the estimate comes after the exam rather than over the phone. It goes in writing alongside the fee.

Four things commonly affect the timeline.

Case complexityHow much the teeth and the bite have to move.
How you respondTeeth move at different rates from one person to the next.
ElasticsWhether the prescribed elastics actually get worn.
AppointmentsWhether you keep your adjustment visits.

Missing appointments or skipping elastics can push a case past its original estimate, so we will tell you early if that is happening rather than at the end.

Adjustment visits are usually about every six to eight weeks. If you work outside Windermere, ask the front desk about early appointments when you book, because it is easier to protect a time slot than to move one later.

What happens when the braces come off

Treatment finishes with retention. Your retainer holds the teeth in their new positions while the bone and tissue around them settle, and Dr. Ogden will tell you how often to wear it and for how long. One set is included in your fee, and replacements start at $225.

What happens at your first visit

The whole thing is three steps.

1

Come in for a free consultation

Exam, digital scan, and a straight answer about what your case needs.

2

Leave with it in writing

The plan and the price go on paper. Decide at home, on your own time.

3

Start when you are ready

Dr. Ogden treats the case from the first appointment to the last.

The consultation is free and usually takes about thirty minutes, sometimes longer depending on what needs looking at.

You will meet Dr. Ogden. A treatment coordinator will walk you through scheduling and the financial side, which is how most orthodontic offices run, but the exam, the diagnosis and the treatment plan come from the orthodontist who will be treating you.

He examines the teeth and bite, takes a digital scan, and gives you a plain answer. Treat it now, or wait and watch. If nothing needs fixing, he will tell you that too.

When treatment makes sense, the fee and the estimated length go on paper before you leave. There is no obligation to start that day.

If you would rather not book a visit yet, you can send a few photos of your teeth and the Windermere office will follow up with what Dr. Ogden sees.

Before, top. After treatment with Dr. Ogden, bottom.

A real case

The kind of problem that is easy to miss

In the top photo this patient is biting all the way down and the upper and lower front teeth still do not meet. That is an open bite, and it hides well because the smile looks fine from the outside.

It tends to show up in small ways. Trouble biting into a sandwich with the front teeth. A lisp that never quite goes away.

Sometimes a thumb habit or a forward-resting tongue is behind it, sometimes it is just how the jaws grew, and the fix depends on the cause. In a young child an open bite occasionally closes on its own once a habit stops. In teens and adults it usually does not.

Questions about braces in Windermere

How much do braces cost in Windermere?

Braces at the Windermere office are $4,550, the same for metal or clear ceramic. You get your fee in writing at a free consultation before treatment starts. Invisalign is priced separately at $2,495 or $4,895.

Do I have to pay for X-rays before you will give me a price?

No. The exam and the digital scan are part of the free consultation, and the price comes from what Dr. Ogden sees in them. You leave with a written fee whether or not you decide to start.

Do I need a referral from my dentist?

No. You can book a free consultation with Dr. Ogden directly. If your dentist has already suggested an orthodontic evaluation, bring anything they gave you, but it is not required.

Can I get the treatment plan and the financial terms in writing?

Yes, both, at the first visit. The written plan covers what Dr. Ogden is proposing, roughly how long it should take, and what it costs. Take it home and think about it for as long as you need.

Will I see Dr. Ogden at every appointment?

Yes. He is the only orthodontist across all three offices, so there is no rotating roster and no handoff to a different doctor partway through. You will also work with a treatment coordinator and clinical staff, which is how any orthodontic office runs, but the orthodontic decisions are his.

Do you offer payment plans for braces?

Yes. In-house financing is 0% interest, so the monthly payment is the fee spread across the term with no interest added. Down payments start at $300. At $4,550 with $300 down that is about $177 a month over 24 months, and the term can be adjusted. Cherry payment plans are also available, and we offer military discounts.

Does dental insurance cover braces?

Many dental plans include an orthodontic benefit, often a lifetime maximum between $1,000 and $3,000 per patient. Adult coverage often differs from coverage for children on the same plan. We verify your benefit before treatment starts and file the claim for you.

What happens if treatment takes longer than you estimated?

The fee you agreed to does not change because a case runs long. Cases most often run past the estimate when appointments get missed or elastics are not worn, so we will raise it with you early rather than at the end.

Does getting braces hurt?

Most patients feel little or nothing while the braces are being put on. Teeth are usually sore for a few days afterward and again after some adjustments. Soft food helps in the first few days, and Dr. Ogden can tell you what over the counter pain relief is appropriate.

Can my teen play sports or an instrument with braces?

Yes. For sports we recommend an orthodontic mouthguard, made to fit over brackets. Band and orchestra players usually need a week or two to adjust, then play normally.

Should I choose braces or Invisalign?

It depends on your bite and your habits. Braces work around the clock with no effort from you, which suits complex cases and younger patients. Invisalign comes out for meals but only works at 20 to 22 hours of wear a day. Dr. Ogden will price both and tell you which one finishes your case better.

Do I need teeth pulled to get braces?

Often not. Dr. Ogden removes teeth only when it is genuinely necessary for the result, and many cases do not call for it. If extractions come up, he will explain why and what the alternative would look like before anything is scheduled.

Which office should I go to if I live in Horizon West or Dr. Phillips?

Of our three offices, Windermere on Maguire Road is the easiest for both. It is a short drive from Horizon West up Maguire, and from Dr. Phillips across Apopka Vineland. Since Dr. Ogden treats at all three offices, you can switch later if your schedule changes.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. The exam, the digital scan, the conversation with Dr. Ogden, and the written price are all free, with no obligation to start. Many families do start the same day, because they already have the number they came in for.

Book a free consultation in Windermere

Most people spend longer deciding whether to book than the visit itself takes.

Half an hour from now you could have an answer, a number, and a plan you did not have to piece together yourself. If braces are not the right call for your case, you will hear that instead, and that is worth knowing too.

Either way it stops being the thing you keep meaning to look into, and starts being someone else's job to get right.
