Orthodontic care for kids, teens, and adults. Your first visit is free, and you leave with a written plan and the exact price.
Dr. Robert Ogden finished his orthodontic residency at the University of Florida in 1994 and opened his first office in Clermont that same year. The Mount Dora office followed in 2006, which is long enough that parents who wore braces in this practice now bring in their own kids, and long enough to know that the right answer at a consultation is sometimes not yet.
Our office sits on North Donnelly Street, about a mile north of downtown Mount Dora, close to the schools rather than out on the highway. You will see the same doctor at every visit, at whichever of our three offices fits your week, because Dr. Ogden is the only orthodontist here and intends to keep it that way.
Dr. Ogden grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, where a good experience with his own family orthodontist pointed him toward the profession. He earned his DDS from Case Western Reserve University in 1991, then completed the three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, finishing in 1994.
He opened his first office in Clermont in 1994, added Windermere in 1995, and brought the practice to Mount Dora in 2006. He is a member in good standing of:
Patients tend to describe the same two things in reviews: he explains everything before he does it, and he does not start treatment a child does not need yet.
Most of our Mount Dora patients come from the Golden Triangle and the towns around it, and a surprising number drive in from further out because they started here and stayed.
Every option below is available at the Mount Dora office. Which one fits depends on your bite, your age, and your patience for rubber bands, and Dr. Ogden will tell you plainly which he would choose for his own family.
Still the workhorse for complicated bites and for kids who would lose a removable aligner by Tuesday. Smaller and more comfortable than the ones parents remember.
Explore bracesThe same mechanics as metal with brackets that blend into the tooth. A frequent pick for teens and adults who want fixed treatment without the flash.
Explore clear bracesRemovable, nearly invisible, and effective for many bites when worn as prescribed. Dr. Ogden will tell you honestly whether yours is one of them.
Explore alignersBrackets printed for your teeth specifically, which typically means fewer visits and shorter appointments. Useful when your drive to Donnelly Street is not a short one.
Explore LightForceA first check around age seven, per AAO guidance. Usually the visit ends with a growth plan and no hardware. Monitoring visits are free.
Explore early treatmentCrowding that returned, a bite that never got fixed, or teeth you have quietly wanted to straighten for twenty years. It is not too late, and you will not be the only adult in the chair.
Explore adult optionsThree quick questions. You will get a sensible starting point, and Dr. Ogden will confirm or correct it at your free consultation.

He and his staff offered trustworthy care and advice and even recommended waiting for braces. When it was time for treatment we were happy to return to Dr. Ogden. We have had excellent care and support and his treatment plan has been exactly as he initially prescribed.
Mount Dora has more orthodontic offices than it used to, and most of the newer ones sit out on the 441 strip with rotating doctors and treatment plans that start the day you walk in. Our office works differently. Dr. Ogden has treated Lake County patients himself since 1994, the same doctor at your first visit and your last one, and he will tell you honestly if your child is not ready to start yet.
Your first visit is free and ends with real numbers. A full exam, a digital scan, and a written plan with exact pricing, so you can compare us to anyone before deciding. Families from Mount Dora, Tavares, Eustis, and Sorrento have been making that comparison since this office opened in 2006, and many of the parents booking consultations today wore braces in this practice themselves.
You leave your first visit with a written plan and an exact price, not a range. Here is how the money side works.

Cost depends on how far the teeth need to move and how long treatment takes, so any number quoted before an exam is a guess. Your free consultation at our Mount Dora office includes a full exam and a written treatment plan with exact pricing. We accept most insurance plans and offer in-house payment plans, so most families finance treatment monthly rather than paying up front.
Yes. Dr. Ogden treats with Invisalign and other clear aligners at all three offices, including Mount Dora. Aligners work well for many teens and adults, but not for every bite. At your consultation Dr. Ogden will tell you plainly whether aligners can get the result you want or whether braces would do the job better.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first visit around age seven. That visit is usually a growth check, not a start date. Dr. Ogden monitors many Lake County kids for a year or two before recommending any treatment, and for some the recommendation is to wait. Growth checks at our office are free.
We are at 2110 N Donnelly St, Suite 700, about a mile north of downtown Mount Dora. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Families reach us in a few minutes from Tavares and Eustis on US-441, and from Sorrento and Mount Plymouth on SR-46.
Yes, and more of them every year. Adults from Mount Dora, Tavares, and Eustis come in for crowding that has crept back since their teenage braces, bites that make chewing uncomfortable, or teeth they have simply wanted to fix for decades. Clear aligners and low-profile braces make treatment easy to live with at any age.
No. You can schedule a free consultation directly with our Mount Dora office. If you have recent X-rays from your dentist we are happy to use them, and we will coordinate with your dentist throughout treatment, but nothing needs to happen before you call us.
